In 1949, Giulio Castelli founded the Italian company Kartell, specialized in the manufacture of plastic products. In 1963, he married architect Anna Castelli Ferrieri who also became his collaborator. Kartell is a worldwide success thanks to its involvement in research and innovation, using efficient production systems and ever more modern technologies. Quality, lightness, resistance, accessibility are the characteristics of the collection signed by leading designers: Philippe Starck, Antonio Citterrio, Ferruccio Laviani … Many Kartell products have become design classics such as the Componibili, the Masters chair or the Cindy and Bourgie lamps.
