In 1959, Ernesto Gismondi founded Artemide, a company that has become a leading designer of lighting fixtures. The publishing house invests from its beginnings in international groups such as “Memphis” Ettore Sotsass, precursor in the manufacture of contemporary lighting. Collaborations ensued and successes increased: Richard Sapper’s Tizio lamp, the Dalù table lamp, the Tolomeo desk lamps and Ross Lovegrove’s Cosmic Leaf lamp.
