Alessi

Giovanni Alessi founded the Italian company Alessi in 1921. From 1929, the company focuses on the production of objects for the nickel-plated or silvered copper table. Carlo Alessi, son of Giovanni, is appointed in 1935 Creative Director. The traditional methods then leave room for industrial manufacture. From 1955, the company collaborates with world-renowned architects and designers such as Richard Sapper, Ettore Sottsass, then Philippe Starck or Marcel Wanders. Alessi democratizes the design by favoring useful accessories, humorous and aesthetic. Most of the published products have become design classics marketed and exhibited around the world.
